  • Smartphone Free Childhood (UK)

    The half-million-parent movement Knock is most closely aligned with. Knock is referenced in the SFC parent WhatsApp groups for the Yorkshire region. Not a membership award, just a useful link.

  • Wait Until 8th (US)

    The US-based pledge movement, 147,000+ signatures, that frames a lot of the international conversation. Knock supports the position and writes about it.

    The 2024 book whose framing of childhood smartphone use we draw on. Cited on /the-research and in long-form notes.

What lands here when it arrives

Specific types of recognition we will list.

  • Press features. The Guardian (Family), The Times (Saturday Magazine), the Telegraph, the BBC. Trade press: Sifted, Tech.eu, Fast Company.
  • School partnerships. UK schools that recommend Knock to incoming year-six parents. We list named schools with permission.
  • Research citations. Researchers writing about UK basic-phone use who cite Knock as a data point.
  • Manufacturer recognition. HMD partnership status, if and when it formalises.
  • Industry awards. Drum Awards, Marketing Society awards, D&AD, similar, when they apply.

Will you add awards as soon as you can?

Only verifiable ones, with links to the issuing source. We will not list a "best of" award from a publication that has not actually given us one. The whole point of this page is that you can check us against external evidence.

Are you a member of Smartphone Free Childhood, Wait Until 8th, or any other movement?

We are aligned with the parent communities at Smartphone Free Childhood (UK) and Wait Until 8th (US). We are not formal members of either, they are parent movements, not membership organisations. We support both.
